IC 10 Galaxy

Figure 1. The IC 10 Galaxy

IC 10 is a dwarf irregular galaxy in the constellation Cassiopeia. It is a member of the Local Group and lies close to the plane of the Milky Way, where dust and stars in our own Galaxy make it hard to observe. IC 10 is also known as a starburst galaxy because it forms new stars at a high rate for a galaxy of its size.
