Getting Acquainted with Sonoma County: Sonoma State University

On September 18, 2020, we moved from San Jose to Rohnert Park, California.

In spite of the pandemic and the Glass fire, which is just over the hill from us, we’ve spent as much time as possible looking around.

We are living right across the street from one of the entrances to Sonoma State University, one of the many colleges in the California state-wide system. Sonoma State was established in 1960. We’d love to be able to take community-oriented classes there and attend events at the Green Music Center. However, the decision has already been made that, because of the COVID-19 threat, all classes for the 2020-2021 academic year will be online only. So I enrolled in some online “Speed Spanish” classes sponsored by Sonoma State, but it won’t quite be the same…
