Souvenir of my visit to Ansel Adams’ workshop

In about 1980 I had the good fortune to visit Ansel Adam’s home and workshop in Carmel, California. Marion Patterson, the instructor of a photography course I was taking at Foothill College (Los Altos, California) arranged the field trip for the entire class. I believe that Marion had worked with Ansel and Virginia Adams in Yosemite during the late 1950s.

We didn’t get much time to take photographs, but I managed to take this one snapshot.

It was a rewarding experience to see one of my favorite photographers at work, and I’m glad I still have a small souvenir of the event!
