Matthew’s 8th grade graduation

On Thursday, June 10, 2010, we were proud and happy to attend our oldest grandson’s graduation ceremony at Chaboya Junior High School in San Jose. He’ll be a freshman next year at Evergreen Valley High School.

I’m sure our reaction is much like any grandparents’: how did he grow up so fast?! (And his sister right behind him.) Has the scientific community studied the fact that time passes at about triple speed for us “oldsters”?

Well, back to Matthew, where the focus belongs. He got a medal for the work he did as teaching assistant in the computer science class, and he was outstanding on the track and field team this spring, with a fifth in the high jump and a PR plus best time in the 4X4 in the regional meet.

And last but not least, Matthew’s sister Miranda made silver honor roll as a fifth grader at Silver Oak School this spring. We’re already looking forward to her 6th grade graduation in 2011!
