We try to get together as an extended family at least once a year, and traditionally we pick a location that requires us all to travel some distance.
This year (2022) we gathered in Glen Ellen, California, the location of the retirement home that Ellen and Rick are building, which is supposed to be complete in the late summer or early fall. It’s only about 12 miles from Dick’s and my current residence in Rohnert Park, but it required that the Livengoods drive from San Jose, and that the Blomquists fly from Minnesota.
The Blomquists rented an Airbnb on Warm Springs Road, and the Livengoods stayed in a cabin owned by friends.
COVID issues caused a staggered start for the event, but it turned out well in the end.
Activities were varied, as usual, and they included picnics, lunches and dinners; hiking; shopping; sightseeing; and even a ferry ride across the Bay followed by a Giants baseball game. Below are photos of some of the highlights.
