Getting Acquainted with Sonoma County: Shiloh Ranch Regional Park

On September 18, 2020, we moved from San Jose to Rohnert Park, California.

In spite of the pandemic and the Glass fire, which is just over the hill from us, we’ve spent as much time as possible looking around.

The following photos were taken on a recent hike at Shiloh Ranch Regional Park, which is just a little to the north of Santa Rosa. Much of Shiloh Ranch burned in 2017 during the Tubbs fire.

We tried the Creekside trail, hoping to make it up to the pond. It was steep and challenging, and we didn’t make it that quite that far. One interesting incident was trying to find enough flat space on the side of the trail to allow a very large horse going in the opposite direction to pass us. We might try a different trail the next time.
