Hiking at Quicksilver Feb 2020

Las weekend (Feb 15, 2020) we drove down to the Almaden Valley and hiked at Quicksilver (Almaden Quicksilver County Park). The trail we chose allows dogs, so we shared our hiking adventure with dozens of them, big and small, and their masters and mistresses.

From the photos above and below you can probably tell that we’ve had a very early spring: even the mustard (one of Gillian’s favorites) is already in full bloom in former orchards. In the summer and fall we’ll undoubtedly have to pay the price  of heat, drought, and fire danger for the lack of rain and comfortable temperatures now.

Poison oak. Don't take it home for an early spring bouquet!
