As we have done most years in recent times, we spent Thanksgiving (November 23, 2017) with the Livengoods at Golden Gate Fields, watching the horses run, placing a few bets, and enjoying a full Thanksgiving dinner that we didn’t have to cook ourselves. Tim also participated, as well as friends of Ellen and Rick’s.
As I’m sure I’ve explained before, it all started with Rick’s family. I seem to remember that they were looking for something to do for the holiday when they first moved out from Pennsylvania and didn’t have any friends or family in the area. The tradition has evolved to the point that we do it almost every year, and Miranda grouses a little that she doesn’t even remember a “proper” family Thanksgiving.
I was so busy losing money on my bets that I took only photo (above), as we were leaving, of the view of the Golden Gate and the City across the bay.
